Maritime Square is a large shopping centre extending from the station, and the residential estate Tierra Verde lies on top of the station.

As with other Airport Express stations, the Airport Express and Tung Chung line are separated by different concourses and different levels. In Tsing Yi Station, the 4 platforms are constructed in a stacked arrangement, with platform 1 at the top level, and platform 4 at the bottom. Platform 2 is only used to allow travellers coming from the Hong Kong International Airport to alight, except between 7 am and 10 am on Mondays to Saturdays, when Morning Express services are available.
