NTBackup or Windows Backup starting from Windows 2000, is Microsoft Windows built-in backup software, introduced in Windows NT around 1997 and part of all subsequent versions up to and including Windows 2003 Server, including Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
NTBackup from Windows XP and later includes Volume Shadow Copy (VSS) support and thus can backup locked files.
